Islamabad: On May 30, 2024, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif as part of his official visit to Pakistan.
During the meeting, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the level of strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and emphasized the importance of high-level mutual visits and mutual support within the framework of international organizations.
The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of economy, trade, energy, tourism, education, science and culture, transportation, as well as defense.
Paying attention to the importance of holding intergovernmental economic commission meetings on a regular basis, the parties touched on the development prospects of bilateral economic relations, especially in the areas of energy and mutual investment.
In addition to this, it has been noted that strengthening the activity of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan-Turkey trilateral cooperation format in all directions will serve to solidify the regional and global positions of all three countries in addition to providing a special contribution to mutually beneficial cooperation.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, hosted by our country this year, created a favorable opportunity for new areas of cooperation.
In the meeting, there was an exchange of ideas around other actual issues that are on the agenda and bilateral and multilateral topics that are of mutual interest.
